Preheat your slow cooker on high (or according to manufacturers instructions). Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and sweat for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and spices and continue to fry for a couple more minutes.
Spoon into a bowl and allow to cool. Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl. Season generously and add the egg. With clean hands scrunch to mix.
Form into a loaf shape and place in the base of your slow cooker. Mix the glaze ingredients together and spoon this over the top of the meatloaf.
Cook on low for 6 hours (or according to manufacturers instructions). Serve warm from the cooker with buttery jacket potatoes and braised red cabbage.
