3 new latte ideas to mix up your coffee break

Upgrade your coffee break with these fun and original twists on a latte. Each uses Nescafé Azera My Way Latte to create a creamy and smooth-tasting drink that is paired with a suggested sweet treat. No fancy equipment required: with just milk, boiling water and a few storecupboard ingredients, you can enjoy a coffee-shop-style experience at home. Which latte takes your fancy?

  1. Luxurious latte

    This classic latte is the perfect mid-morning coffee. The cream and cocoa powder are optional but add a touch of elegance to an otherwise traditional coffee. Enjoy with a madeleine for the ultimate indulgent break.

    Serves 2
    Takes 5 mins

    Ingredients:
    5 heaped tsp Nescafé Azera My Way Latte
    120ml semi-skimmed milk
    reduced-fat dairy spray cream (optional)
    cocoa powder, for dusting (optional)
    2 madeleines, to serve (optional)

    Method:

    1. Spoon the Nescafé Azera My Way Latte into a heatproof jug, stir in 180ml boiling water and mix well. Divide the mixture between 2 mugs or coffee glasses. 
    2. Heat the milk in a small pan over a low heat or in a heatproof jug in the microwave until just before boiling. Pour the milk over the coffee mixture and stir. 
    3. Serve with a spray of cream and a dusting of cocoa powder, if you like, plus a madeleine on the side.

  2. Tahini maple latte

    Tahini and maple syrup are a match made in heaven in this spiced, warming latte. It gives the drink a subtle sweet and nutty flavour. Serve with a dusting of cinnamon and mini shortcakes.

    Serves 2
    Takes 5 mins

    Ingredients:
    160ml semi-skimmed milk
    4 heaped tsp Nescafé Azera My Way Latte
    1 tbsp tahini
    1 tbsp maple syrup
    large pinch of ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve
    ½ tsp vanilla extract
    2 mini shortcakes, to serve (optional)

    Method: 

    1. Heat the milk in a small pan over a low heat or in a heatproof jug in the microwave until just before boiling. In a measuring jug, mix the Nescafé Azera My Way Latte with the warm milk, tahini and maple syrup. Add the cinnamon and vanilla extract and mix well. 
    2. Pour into a heatproof serving glass or mug and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve immediately with mini shortcakes on the side.

  3. Iced chocolate hazelnut latte

    If the sun's shining, get your caffeine fix from this delicious iced latte. Hazelnut chocolate spread takes the flavour of a mocha to new heights, and it only takes a matter of minutes to make. Serve with a milk chocolate Viennese finger.

    Ingredients:
    150ml semi-skimmed milk
    4 heaped tsp Nescafé Azera My Way Latte
    2 tbsp no-added-sugar hazelnut chocolate spread, plus a little extra to decorate
    ice cubes
    2 milk chocolate Viennese fingers, to serve (optional)

    Method:

    1. Heat the milk in a small pan over a low heat or in a heatproof jug in the microwave until just before boiling. Remove from the heat and whisk in the Nescafé Azera My Way Latte and hazelnut chocolate spread, mixing well until the mixture is a uniform colour. 
    2. Using a teaspoon, brush the inside of a tumbler with a little hazelnut chocolate spread. Fill each tumbler about three-quarters full of ice cubes. 
    3. Put the coffee mixture in a measuring jug and top up with cold or room-temperature water to 350ml. 
    4. Divide the coffee mixture between the 2 tumblers and serve with milk chocolate Viennese fingers.
